Jack's obituary
Jack Oppel, born on May 6, 1963, passed away on June 17, 2024. Jack was a beloved family man, successful businessman, and a pillar within his community. His magnetic personality and pragmatic wisdom will be deeply missed.
Jack completed his high school education at Lamar High School in Arlington, TX in 1981, and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 1985. He was a proud alumnus and often attributed his success to the strong foundation he received from his education.
A devoted family man, Jack married the love of his life, Patty Oppel, in 1991. Together they raised two sons, Gage and Garrett Oppel. Jack was also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Oppel, and by his brothers, Bill, Jim and Ray Oppel. His daughter-in-law, Leyton Oppel, and his beloved grandson, also named Jack, survive him as well.
Jack had an undeniable passion for his work, a passion he made sure to extend beyond his own company. He often hosted field trips to construction sites for local youth groups, fostering an understanding and appreciation of his trade in the younger generations. He also sponsored many local youth programs and projects, a testament to his commitment to his community.
A man of many interests, Jack thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the lake, bicycling, and exploring new dishes, hence his love for food was well-known. He had a fondness for all kinds of music and loved vacationing in the BVI and Cozumel, Mexico. Jack's philosophy to life was simple - live life to the fullest.
His two greatest accomplishments, as he would often say, were his family and his company. His legacy of generosity and his larger than life personality will continue to inspire the lives of those he touched. Jack Oppel will be deeply missed but his vibrant spirit, wisdom, and the love he had for his family and community will forever be remembered.
