John P. “Jack” McDermott, age 67, of Harmony Township went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Born August 22, 1955 in Norristown, PA he was a son of the late John and Rita (Costello) McDermott.

He was a loving and selfless husband to his adoring wife Becky, as well as a devoted father and grandfather. Jack was a lifelong avid softball player, his positions being pitcher and first baseman. He was a softball coach for his children and then became his grandchildren’s biggest fan in their sports, dance, and all other creative endeavors. Jack enjoyed spending his free time building, fixing, and designing. He was a master of all building trades.

Jack was a faithful member and deacon of Phillipsburg Alliance Church. He had a strong Christian faith and a kind giving heart. Those he loved the most are blessed to have had Jack share his selflessness, Christian faith, kind and giving heart, craftsmanship skills, and carpentry knowledge as he influenced their lives forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky McDermott; children, Kristina McDermott Pitts (Chuck), Jaclyn McDermott Hindman (Brandon) and Steven McDermott (Blair); step-children Tracee Lilly (Pat), Kristi Horan (Brian) and Marcie Tate (Justin); siblings Rita Stock (Barry), Eugene McDermott (Peggy) and Mary Pat McDermott; grandchildren Taylor (TJ), Benjamin, Sadie, Dylan, Roman, Ellis, Eleanor, Ames, Reannon, Benjamin, Makayla, Trent, Madelyn and Julian; and great-grandchild, Karson.

Memorial funeral services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. to time of services.
