Jack's obituary
Jack Andrew “Andy” Hacker Jr., 64, of Indianapolis, passed away December 16, 2023 after his hard fought battle with cancer.
Andy was born on June 22, 1959 to Jack and Shirley Hacker of Indianapolis. He was a rambunctious and outgoing child that enjoyed testing the boundaries. His love of sports started young with baseball and football, and continued throughout his life. Andy graduated from Northwest High School in 1977. He then went on to serve in the United States Airforce, where he added boxing to the list of sports he enjoyed.
Anyone who knew Andy knew that he was a loving family man and doting papaw of 3 granddaughters. When he wasn’t spending time with family and friends, you’d find him on the golf course, riding his motorcycle, placing bets, or remaining a diehard New York Jets/Penn State Nittany Lions fan.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hacker, Mary and Herb Baker (grandparents), and Sylvia and Clarence Wagner (grandparents). He is survived by daughters Meredith Burkart (Conor) and Caroline Hacker, granddaughters Quinn, Savannah, and Mattie, mother Shirley Hacker, sisters Terri Patton and Mona Kennedy, nephew Ryan Boring (Erin, Kelsey, Lochlyn), niece Halie Fabian (Nyla), and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 5th from 2pm-5pm at IPB Club located at 2820 Merchants Rd. A post celebration will take place at McGilvreys Pub and Eatery on High School Rd directly following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
