Jack's obituary

To all of our friends and loved ones: It’s heartbreaking to let you know that Jack Breedon Campbell, aged 49, met Jesus face to face on July 15, 2022, at his home in Bandera, Texas, following a brief period of ill health. Born January 27, 1973 in East Point, Georgia, as the eldest of five, he carried a great weight in this family.

Jack earned a Master of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M after graduating Magna Cum Laude from North Texas University with Bachelor of Arts and Sciences. He served with distinction as Private First Class in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the Police Academy, a master in high school years of the regional Bible Bowl Competition, and held numerous honors and recognition of high achievement in his various endeavors. He attended Riding the River Cowboy Fellowship in Bandera.

There was a lot to love about Jack and a lot to be impressed by, especially his quick wit, brilliant mind, and photographic memory. He was exceptionally giving and big-hearted, so much so that one family member has a collection of bullets he would randomly leave from his pocket just because he had nothing else at the time to gift her of his. This loving heart had such big strong arms and he could bear hug with the best of them. His arms were also often full of his dog, Riley, a gorgeous, silvery, vocal schnauzer who misses her daddy's hugs and sneaky treats. Many nights they could be found lounging together, she in the crook of his arm, belly up, the two snoring in sync.

Those who knew Jack know how much he prided himself on enjoying the fruits of his labor and living life to the fullest! He could often be found lounging, sailing, or fishing the Florida Keys, as well as various island paradises with his beautiful lady, Lisa, and often family in tow. Jack KNEW good food and it has been said by several he missed his calling being a Chef! One passion of Jack's was grilling anything and everything, much to other's delight! He would accept no less than perfection when he wanted to impress with a feast. By far, Jack knew where one could get the most delicately-crafted confections and desserts--anytime, anywhere, in any city! It gave him quite joy sharing his discoveries with others, making sure everyone left happy.

Jack had quite the entrepreneurial spirit and being successful in business kept him motivated. He did NOT give up easily. If he ever sniffed a hint of defeat, he would just restructure and head in a different direction. As the old country song lyric goes, "He was good at business, but there was business left to do..." Yet when God said, "Come home, Son," one of the most distinctive, easy-going, generous persons we ever had the blessing of knowing and loving, got his wings.

There will never be another Jack Campbell, not even close. All who knew him can attest to that. We can only imagine he's up in heaven making clouds rumble and pointing at someone else, while wheeling and dealing with St. Peter for a better cloud with a better view. Jack rarely, if ever, said the word "hello"... as hellos are often followed by goodbyes. So until our heavenly reunion one day, let's all just look up and say, "eh"... He'll know it's you.

Jack is survived by his father, Malcolm Campbell of Fort Worth, Texas, mother, Mary Cummings of Bandera, one brother, Seth Campbell of Tonganoxie, KS, sisters Ivy Campbell of Poetry, Texas, Jenni Campbell of Valley View, Texas, Shannon Lardi of Lexington, Kentucky, and the love of his life, Lisa Moon of Fort Worth, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.

To honor Jack’s memory we are holding a celebration of his life Saturday, August 13th at 1 p.m. in the dining room of Matt's Rancho Martinez in Lower Greenville off Skillman (private entrance will be marked). We invite anyone who knew him to attend and celebrate his unique style and impact on their life. ♡
