Jack's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our mentor, Jack Blansfield, who peacefully departed from this world on November 11, 2023. Born on July 14, 1951 in Keokuk, Iowa and graduate of Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa, Fl, Jack lived a life full of music and laughter. His love for sports, and most importantly, he lived for the love he had for his family and friends.
Jack was the treasured father of Anthony Blansfield and Angela Nichols and a caring father-in-law to Sarina Blansfield. He was the proudest grandfather there ever was of his 5 granddaughters, Ty, Tayelor, Teagan, Trinity Blansfield, and Alyssa Johnson, and his only grandson, Jackson Nichols. He is also survived by his caring niece, Courtney Blansfield, daughter of his predeceased younger brother Larry Blansfield and his kind-hearted sister-in-law, Sheryl Berry. Jack will be remembered with love by all of his surviving relatives, along with a host of friends that seemed more like family to him as well, he cherished each one a little differently but still he bragged about them all the same…he was so proud of having them in his life and could count on them when he needed and they would always be there.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Blansfield, and his mother, Patricia Blansfield.
Known for his sweet nature, kind heart, hilarious sense of humor, and boundless love for his family and friends, Jack was loved by many. His favorite way to spend free time was surrounded by the ones that meant the most to him, creating memories, making others smile and sharing laughter. His love for music could often be heard echoing from his home, and as a devoted lifetime fan, even during the no win seasons, he showed constant support for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves and many others.
Jack embodied a unique spirit of kindness and generosity. He had a mantra that resonated with his character: "Do good things whether others notice them or not. These words, like the man himself, will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, serving as a reminder of his thoughtful nature and his belief in the power of good. He had a love for his country and hoped it may always ring free.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held on December 10, 2023 from 2-5pm, at The Bistro on South Main Street in downtown Brooksville. It is here where we will remember him, share stories of his life, and honor a truly remarkable man whose physical presence may not be among us, but whose spirit, love, and lessons will forever remain in our hearts.
We invite all those who knew and loved Jack to join us in celebrating his life, remembering his love and kindness, and honoring the wonderful man he was. May his soul rest in peace.
