Ivonne Otero, 74, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1951, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Paulina Gonzalez and Pablo Otero.
Ivonne was the beloved wife of over 50 years to Jesus Ernesto Rovira. She is survived by her five children, Jessica Elliott, Brenda Elliott, Ivonne Diaz, Barbara Stiles, and Jesus Rovira; her twelve grandchildren, who were the joy of her life; and her sister, Hilda Otero. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Luis Otero and Pablo Otero; and her sisters, Wanda Otero and Petra Hernandez. As the youngest of her siblings, Ivonne held a special place in her family and carried forward the love and strength of those who came before her.
Known as the matriarch of her family, Ivonne was a woman of unmatched strength and determination. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and businesswoman who never shied away from hard work and never took anything from anyone. Her family will always remember her incredible home-cooked meals, her songs at bedtime, and the way she filled every gathering with warmth and laughter. She loved to dance, to sing, and to pour her heart into those she loved most.
Ivonne leaves behind a legacy of resilience and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
