To know him was to love him. His soul could light up a room. I remember the last time I saw him, I said Isaiah?! he was like Ariel?! Lol you gave me a hug and said we needed to connect and cracked a joke per usual. He has always been such a sweet , outgoing and loving person. Always motivating someone, always hustling to be better, always smiling and laughing. My condolences to the family, the friends that turned family, all the people that care for him dearly. While most people walk by others with their head down, Isaiah came up to me happy to talk. His physical transformation was so significant that I didn’t even recognize him at first glance. That one small interaction stuck with me because of his genuine positivity. Since I’ve known Isaiah he’s been the most hype and most impressive go-getter in the room. I first met Zay, at Wayland Baptist University. He was one of the first people I met from Maryland. We played football together and lived in the same dorm. Zay was the light in the room. He was so funny, and always had a joke coming. He could make everyone and anyone laugh. He used to come to my room with boys and we would be playing the game, blasting music, and constantly laughing.

Our coaches have always established in us that our sport will one day end. But being a great father, husband, and our legacy that will continue. Zay was the definition of that.

We will miss you Zay forever and always
