Iris's obituary
Iris met Robert (Bob) Martin in 1963: fell in love. On April 30, 1972 Bob and Iris got married in Los Angeles, California. They were married for 48 years and raised four beautiful daughters: Raquel, Karen, Teri, and Susan.
Iris had 7 grandchildren: Aysia, Isis, Mandisa, Osiris, Savion, Hannah, and Brandon & 5 great grandchildren: Travis Jr., Amadi, Logan, Raiden, and Braylen.
Iris had various career interests which ranged from: financial Institutions, logistics and as an international chef and her husband was always there to support her endeavors.
Iris enjoyed exposing her children and grandchildren to the Arts. As young girls, she enrolled her daughters and granddaughters in ballet and ice skating. Iris was even brave enough to take her grandchildren to see the production of The Lion King (without any of their parents). As a supportive wife, she accompanied her husband Bob to the Purple Heart event in various years and was a member of the Women’s Heart Axillary.
Iris loved God, and she and Bob shared this love with their daughters through parochial schooling and volunteer activities in their home church and community. She taught her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren about the Lord and the love He has for them, reminding them to cling to Him and not to man or things of this world. Throughout her life Iris relied on faith in God to weather difficult times. On her last year on this earth Iris devoted herself to diving deeper into the Word and concentrating on her relationship on God, as well as loving Bob.
Iris’ family and loved one are rejoicing in the fact that she is present with the Lord, pain and suffering free, and full of joy.
