Iris's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Gonzalez, a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt who passed away on June 23, 2025. Born on November 1, 1938, Iris was a beacon of warmth and light in the lives of those who knew her. She was the “Mayor” of 2050 Valentine Ave.
Iris was predeceased by her sons, Jose and David Gonzalez, as well as her parents, Gloria Cruz and Jacob Montilla. She is survived by her son, Victor Gonzalez, granddaughters Lorianna Gonzalez, Alajade Brown, Ianna Stricklin, Samantha Gonzalez, grandson, J’ceon Stricklin, and niece, Lisa Cola.
Iris was a woman of many passions. She loved her seafood, enjoyed watching Game of Thrones, and was a loyal supporter of the Yankees. She was also known for her love of casinos and trips to the Bahamas, both of which brought her immense joy and relaxation. Her warmth and vibrant energy were also reflected in her favorite color, yellow.
Remembered for her charisma, feistiness, humor, love, and care, Iris was a woman of great strength and resilience. Her life was a testament to her belief in the power of love. She often reminded those around her to "love one another" and championed this message through her actions and relationships.
One of Iris's greatest accomplishments, and one she held close to her heart, was being the best mother and grandmother she could be. Her legacy is one of kindness and laughter, a testament to a life well-lived. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be tremendously missed.
Iris Gonzalez leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and devotion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. The world is a little less bright without Iris, but her memory will never fade, She will forever be loved and missed.
