I just wanted to share that Randy was an incredibly kind and understanding person. Whenever I came by his place to hang out with Ranzen in middle school and up to college, he'd ask me how everything was and remembered things I'd told him in previous conversations. During high school, his family's home was a place of comfort and a place I thought of when I wanted to escape the difficult things going on with my life. I remember even talking to him about my relationship with my parents at the time and appreciating his patience and respect as we talked. As a teenager wary of adult intervention, I felt safe because him and his family welcomed my presence into their home. From offering snacks to entrusting their cat in my care, sharing words of wisdom and expressing gratitude, Randy will always be someone I will remember as thoughtful and caring. His memory will remind me to give others respect and mindfulness despite the circumstances because of the meaningful connections that are made through those interactions that altogether make a lasting impact.

Uncle Randy was the first adult that I met that shared so many of the same interests as me — video games, cars, culture. Kids know when adults feign interest in their passions, but that was never Uncle Randy. He even installed unlimited credits on my Gran Turismo 2 save so I could buy every car and upgrade in the game.
He taught me about Final Fantasy, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Formula 1, architecture, and so much more that I carry to this day. I credit so much of my personality to Uncle Randy, and I love that I get to share so much of that with my wonderful cousin Ranzen.
Uncle Randy, thank you for everything. You, Auntie Zenen, Auntie Corinna, Ranzen, and Kaylen are so, so loved. We are so lucky to have you in our lives, and if there’s ever anything that I can do to help, I’m never too far away. — Kevin
