Please accept our sincere condolences on behalf of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA). Dr. Robinson was a pioneer within the profession of pharmacy, as well as within the ranks of NPhA. He worked tirelessly to support the development of students of pharmacy through various methods, including academic training and financial procurement. As a result of Dr. Robinson’s work, pharmacists, most specifically Black pharmacists, of today are able to excel in all fields of the profession on the highest of levels. That is the definition of leaving a legacy and imprint on the world that will resonate forever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of grief.

My condolences to the family. Ira was my mentor, friend and neighbor. We worked together at what was then Merck-Medco mail-order pharmacy. Ira was a very detailed person who always strove for excellence in his work and inspired others to strive for excellence also. He was a great historian for his family and also for many graduates of Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy. He made history himself for being the first Black to enroll in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida and also the first Black to earn a Ph.D. at UF in any discipline. Dr. Ira C. Robinson touched many, many lives. He will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. Mr Ira was a nice, friendly neighbor. He loved taking pictures and would sometimes come out to talk and take pictures. During my husband and I impending adoption I asked Mr Ira for his input. Not only did he say yes but his input was very helpful and well documented. He even supplied copies for anyone who might need more information. It was done very professionally and we really appreciated it. May he rest in peace.
