Buck's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful departure of Ira "Buck" Baker, who passed away on August 30, 2023. Ira, better known as Buck, was born on May 10, 1935, and lived a fulfilled and meaningful life.
Buck was a quiet, private individual, and had a strong Christian faith. He loved reading, with a zeal for consuming old western classics, along with a variety of other fictions. He appreciated old time country music like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings, recognizing it as a form of art that resonated deeply with him.
Afternoons for Buck were incomplete without a can of his favorite Diet Dr. Pepper. A fan of sports, particularly college football, he spent many a joyous moment cheering on his favorite teams. Buck also found solace in the natural beauty of Table Rock Lake, which he considered his favorite vacation spot.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Wanda Lee Albin Baker, he leaves behind his cherished daughter, Teri Gnaedinger, his son-in-law Gary, his grandchildren Erik and Amanda Gnaedinger, along with great grandson Ryan Joseph Gnaedinger. Buck's legacy will continue to inspire his family and all who knew him as a kind and principled man. Buck's life was a testament to quiet resilience and unwavering hope, his memories a beacon of comfort to his loved ones.
Buck's life and his stories will live on, reminding us always to cherish the simple pleasures and personal faith. I have placed a family memorial stone in Columbus Kansas, at Park Cemetery in the family burial plots of the Albin Family as a legacy of memory of our family .
