Imelda and I had reconnected, talking on the phone for the past couple of years. When our girls were in grade school, we were good friends. We served together on the school's PTA and belonged to a Birthday Club for many years. We also took art classes together.
The last time we spoke was in late May/early June and Imelda wasn't feeling well and only stayed on the phone for a few minutes. After several attempts to call Imelda over the next month or so, I searched the internet for someone in Imelda's family who could tell me where she was, and was shocked to find Imelda's obituary.  Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to her family.  Imelda is greatly missed.
