It’s impossible to choose just one memory with Ida, who I had the privilege to spend so much time with from the time I was so young. Ida has been a fearless cheerleader to her daughter Stef, and, by extension, a second mom to me and so many of Stef’s closest friends. That makes this goodbye so much harder.
More than anything else, my memories of Ida are filled with laughter. And I’m not just talking about “haha” funny. My memories with Ida are filled with “laugh until you cry,” “ouch my belly hurts” laughter. Drives to the Poconos- weekends in Florida- casual conversations around the kitchen table- or, of course, our recurring photo-bomb birthday cake photos. The picture in my head is there, but, as I look back, I also hear so many laughs.
I’m privileged to not be able to count the memories of my life where Ida is nearby cheering me on. She has been a strong rock not just for her daughter Stef, but for the rest of us who she also treated as her own. I am so grateful to have known this beautiful human. I could go on forever. Thank you welcoming me into your family, you are so, so missed.

Some of my favorite memories of Ida are from when Stefanie and I met in high school and we would hang out in the Angelone kitchen. I was always welcome in their home. Ida was a nurturing, loving, beautiful person who was there for me through every big stage in my life-my bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, etc. She loved my kids too and I will never ever forget how much she cared. John Mayer concerts will never be the same. I love you, Ida, and I will be there for Patrick and Stefanie like you have always been there for me.
