Music is REM and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the end. In another memorable time, at age 11, Ian and I threw the bed out of our hotel room 12 stories up...right into the pool.

My deepest condolences go out to Ian's family and loved ones. I met Ian when I was 16. I had just started playing SSBM and we wound up playing together at KSU some Monday night in spring 2015. He kicked my ass. He knew I was just starting out and was very encouraging, giving me pointers, and inviting me over to play at his apartment whenever he was free. That summer, I would often find myself driving home at 5am after playing and learning about melee for hours among the amazing, tight knit community Ian had built out of his Watermark apartment. Ian was so friendly and welcoming, so quick to help out and give honest feedback and advice. I was a shy kid, and this easy, affable environment gave me a much needed space to grow some confidence and comfortability around other people. I will always be so grateful for what Ian built and provided all of us who got to spend time there that summer.
Some things I will remember about Ian:
his great taste in music (introduced me to artists I still listen to and enjoy today);
his skill at SSBM, and furthermore his ability to explain and teach complicated concepts within the game in a simple way;
his way of talking to you, and making you feel special, valued.
Again, I'd like to extend my sympathies to Ian's family and loved ones. Ian was a great guy who had a positive, lasting impact on many peoples lives, mine included. He will be remembered fondly.

I am so sorry Diane. Deepest condolences. My best recollection or remembrance of Ian was back when we met for dinner a very long time ago and you brought Ian in a baby car seat carrier. I can see that picture in my mind clear as day -- and so glad I have that memory.

There were so many memories with Ian he was not only a brother but a best friend a husband and an amazing son, I remember late nights staying up and hiding from Richard when he got home, roaming around east Cobb on so many fun adventures from swimming at night stealing boats by the lake and sitting on the golf course thinking about how crazy being grown would be and how we wouldn’t have to walk everywhere if we were just old enough to drive. I remember halo 3 until the sun came up and my first time going to the beach and putting live crabs in the bed with Keon. Every second spent with Ian was a treasure and it will always make me smile when I hear a child screeching in the grocery store because we too were pterodactyl’s. I remember all the times at mayhem fest being so young and fragile but moshing to slayer and lamb of god with the adults. Nothing ever held us back back then. I’d give anything to spend another day young carefree and with Ian but you are never gone only temporarily for now I’ll see you in the next one brother! ❤️❤️❤️
In response to "What always reminds you of Ian?"

I am so sad about this and can only offer my deepest sympathy to Lea, Diane, Tony, and all of Ian's family that loved him. I only remember a moment in Ian's life when he was a young boy. He had the same color hair as his cousins (my nephews) Anthony and Nick. All three were the same age and looked like brothers. After reading about Ian's life and who he was, I am glad to know Ian had experienced the joys of happiness, love and success even though he was dealt with overwhelming struggles in his life, there are happy memories of him to remember and share...
