It was heartbreaking to hear of Ian’s passing and all of my love goes to his family and everyone who was lucky enough to know Ian.
Ian and I met in 2007 as college roommates and teammates on the baseball team at Mesa. For the next 12 years Ian and I played baseball and eventually softball in Telluride together.
I was always amazed at Ian’s athletic ability and have always had great respect for him that he opted to play baseball, following his passion to Mesa, when he was also so talented as a skier and on the football field. Ian had a profound impact on my life and was one of the first people to get me out into the mountains, which changed my life. I’ll never forget how Ian would light up with excitement and motivation when we were planning a trip or out adventuring.
Ian was an incredible father, hardworking, great on the guitar around a campfire, loyal, fun to be around, and overall just a great friend.
Thanks for everything, Ian. I’ll miss you buddy.

There is now a void in my soul that can never be filled.
I will miss your kind smile, the sound of your voice, your deep laughter that brought joy to all who heard it, the confident (slightly goofy) way you walked, and the fearless spirit you had when you skied and explored the outdoors.
Your love for woodworking, craftsmanship, and quality design. And even your newfound passion for the world of gardening...which is a testament to your curiosity and love for life. Most of all, I will forever cherish the love you shared with Hayes, your friends, and family; a love that was unconditional, kind, and unwavering. We love you, too! And always will.
The memories and moments I shared with you are countless, and it is the accumulation of these that I will replay in my mind, until the end of time.
Yet, amidst the sorrow, I find solace in the gift of having known you, of having loved you, and of having been a part of the extraordinary life you lived.
Your presence enriched my world in ways I am still discovering...until we meet again, my sweet lan.
Rest easy.🕊️
