Hylda's obituary

Hylda Garcia entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt, tita and friend whose love and faith touched the lives of many.

Hylda is lovingly remembered by her parents, Felipe and Hisako Olivera Sr.; her brother Felipe Olivera Jr., his wife Gina, and their four children; her beloved daughter Alyssa Snell and son-in-law Spencer; her husband John Garcia and his two sons; and her cherished grandson Nathan Owen, son of Alyssa.

Born at Andrew’s Air Force Base in Maryland, Hylda’s life was one of adventure and faith. She spent part of her childhood in Spain before returning to Maryland and later moving with her family to Japan in 1983. In 1989, she settled in Florida, where she raised her daughter and played an active role in the life of her grandson.

Hylda’s greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense happiness worshipping at GraceLife Sarasota, a community that brought her peace and fulfillment. Those who knew Hylda were inspired by her unwavering devotion to God and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Her impact on those around her was profound, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and compassion. While she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, there is comfort in knowing that she is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.

May Hylda’s memory serve as a source of strength and inspiration to those who loved her.
