Hwa Sun Cheong, age 80, died on August 20, 2021. Born in South Korea, Ms. Cheong moved to the US at the age of 28. She met Deok Jae on a blind date through good friends, and they married in 1976. She and Deok have owned and operated Carmel Cleaners, with the help of her daughter Tammy, since 1987. She was an avid golfer, and enjoyed being an active member of the Carmel Valley Ranch WGA. She was also an esteemed and devoted member of her church. Her strength of spirit and kindness were known by anyone who met her.

She is survived by her husband, Deok, her daughters, Tammy and Mina, and her grandson, Chandler.

Funeral services will take place at YoungNak Church. Flowers can be sent to 235 10th St in Marina. Please note that masks are required to attend the service.
