Hunter will always be part of my family and be held dear to my heart. Like many others, I am going to miss those hugs that he gave. It is never easy to understand why we lose someone. This instance is definitely hard to swallow. I know that Hunter had a heart that could not be matched. It might have been tough for my daughter to understand at first, why if they were no longer together, did Hunter remain so close to my heart. Reminding her of the beautiful daughter they had helped put that in perspective I believe. Hunter believed in family the same as I did. Once they are in, you keep them no matter what. One of my most treasured moments with Hunter was when out of the blue, a vehicle came pulling in to my driveway. He had been released and had his mother bring him to see me and share the lyrics he spent time and love writing. To my core, I am full of gratitude to Monica for facilitating such a precious memory. Hunter reminded me often, no matter how strong one can be, they need love and room to grow. I consider myself lucky to have the love and care I gave to him, reflect back from him. Regardless of circumstance, im proud of him for just being himself. I'll miss you, Hunter. Love you forever, like you for always. Thank you from the core of my soul for just being you and for those amazing children you helped bring to the world. I'll never forget the impact you made in my life. Be free, find your peace.

My first memory of Hunter was him being a few months old and wrapping his tiny hand around one of my fingers, I was only four myself. While I hadn't seen him in several years at the time that he passed, I keep thinking back to various memories of him when we were kids. While browsing Hunter's Facebook wall I saw that someone shared a meme that said "I hope heaven gives you what Earth couldn't" and despite being agnostic, it really resonated with me for Hunter. I haven't even met his kids but I hope they're able to hear stories of their dad's sweet soul, that they're able to find support through their grief, and that they know there is no shame in professional mental health support if ever wanted or needed. It can be truly life changing, in my experience.
