I had the great pleasure of working with Howard for many years, he was my go to guy without any doubt. We became good friends and I could always count on his honesty at work and with life in general. The years have flown by, I moved away, but we still kept in contact when we could, even just to say hello, but as always, not often enough. I was truly saddened to hear about his passing and know that he will be missed by anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. He truly was a wonderful man. Howard, you will always have a special place in my heart. Rest In Peace my friend. My sincere condolences to his entire family during this most difficult time.
On behalf of the Ranetkins family (Nicholas, Carolyn, & Alexander), our deepest condolences to the Rockman family. Howard and my father were good friends for many years and enjoyed their Sunday brunches with friends and family. He will be missed
I hadn't seen Howie since highschool, but was in touch again from last summer. Events have conspired to prevent my coming today but I'd like to share this.
Howie was one of the truly kind and thoughtful people in my life. As a kid we would play shinny. I could hardly skate, but Howie was a natural athlete at anything he tried. I would hang out in front of the net and Howie would feed me a pass. And, of course, I would score, the other team would heap scorn on me, and Howie would tell me what an outstanding hockey player I was.
A good soul that I wish I had not lost contact with.
My deepest sympathies and condolences to Howard's family. Howard was a true friend of mine and had big heart to help me when i was starting my business back 15 years ago when he was working in the Rockman trucking and from there i got to know him and became good friend. He could be in the office very early to dispatch a container to us no matter how big snow outside in the winter. he helped us to storage a container at his trucking yard when needed to avoid storage at railway yard and wait for client's delivery appointment. He gave me help and his business intelligence during my early years of business and always act like a big brother to me. Howard, May you rest in peace. You will be always in my heart!
My coldenceces to Howard's family from all of us here at the Resurrection Center and Extended Hands. Howard was a true friend to us and he cared deeply about the poor and hurting in our community. Even from his hospital bed he was making calls to companies to help us meet the needs in our community in Lachine. One day he call screaming tell me to go and pick up the turkeys for the community. He was always there to help us, help other people. Howard you may be gone from our midst but not from our hearts. Bishop David & Glynis Burton. Thank you for being a great philanthropist and a friend.
My deepest condolences to Howard's family. Howard was one of a kind to say the least. He truly was one of the nicest and kindest people I have ever known. Oh ya, I almost forgot... a little eccentric as well. :)
Howard was definitely a character with a huge heart. Even though our lives parted ways many years ago, we never forgot Quentin’s birthday and called him every single year without fail, no matter what. He wanted to know how he is was doing and what was new in our lives. We returned the favor in kind, by contacting him every year. I remember the Rockman Transport days, and still have the photo of Quentin wearing a Rockman Transport hat before he could even walk.
Our deepest condolences and sympathy Rest in peace Howard
Playing with Howard was an extreme adventure. Only guy I know that : Had a canvas mail bag of used golf balls in the trunk of his car. Would invite 5 players to join him on the second fairway resulting in 6 balls on the green. Would take mulligans for wedge shots . Most fun I ever had playing golf . Rest in peace, dude !
