I met Homer through my son, James Dyer. Homer and James were in the Army together at Joint Base Lewis McCord, formerly Ft Lewis, in WA State. James brought Homer to my Olympia, WA home for Sunday dinners.  James and Homer kept in touch after Homer was discharged. He was a wonderful man with a great appetite!  Love from us to his family!

Trey was one of the first people I met at 29th Signal. Being from Texas, we immediately hit it off and became friends. I remember all of his “strait-isms” even though most aren’t PC to say in open channels. When he became a sergeant, he was one of the best ones I had the honor of serving with. I remember one Thursday during “soldier time” he took us to north fort and we watched one of our other brethren, bulldog a six foot ground rod out of the ground. He also took us to a rope bridge spanning the Nisqually river, and we watched our brother (from earlier) jump into the snow melt with a rope tied around him.) Strait just laughed and let him do it. That was just him though. I really enjoyed seeing him a few years ago and reconnecting and telling old stories over a few beers. He’s just one of those awesome guys who will never be replaced. Love you brother and I will miss you.

Rest in peace, friend. You are gone too soon, but you will be remembered by all of us for your kindness and humility. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

-My sincerest condolences, Alan
