Holly's obituary
Holly was loved by many and made friends everywhere she went. She was an enthusiastic letter writer, marathon shopper, patient teacher and wise confidant. A kind and generous friend, she lived every day to it's fullest and never hesitated to express her affection toward anyone, especially children.
She grew up in College Park, Florida and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1972. She studied Library Science at UCF and went on to pursue a career in K-12 education. During her tenure in education she worked as the Media Specialist at Durrance Elementary , Shingle Creek Elementary, and Gwinn High School. She began working at Valencia College as a writing tutor in 2011 and also worked in Respite Support in her final years.
She and Patrick Dragon were married from 1983-2008 and lived in Orlando, Florida and Marquette, Michigan. She is survived by her sisters Shannon McCrory, Carol Farmer, and Patricia Jones, daughters Roxanne Dragon, Andrea Atkins, and Hillary Dragon and four grandchildren, Everleigh Atkins, Emerson Atkins, Hollyn Atkins and Magnus Ward Dragon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Celebration Gardens in Winter Park, Florida from 11am-2pm. This is an outdoor venue, light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to her memorial fund or to a charity supporting her lifelong passion for children and education.
