I first met Holly 40 years ago. She was beautiful inwardly  & outwardly. She loved my children & they loved her, still out of respect referring to her as Mrs. Dragon.  Per the two that had her in Media said she made a story come to life. How we miss her, my heart still hurts for her daughters & grandchildren.

I'm so sad to hear about Holly. I flew down to Orlando from Ohio and drove down  Pleasure Island Rd where I lived for 9 yrs, bouncing from apt to apt there. I wanted so badly to stop and talk. I didn't know she'd passed just 3 weeks earlier.  I wanted to know if she'd any vacancies again as mom was going into a nursing home then. I did a compilation of her family VHS tapes with Patrick, Andrea, Roxanne and Hillary. She and Brutus were good to me. I was so thankful Holly let me keep those

19 cats toted down from Julie's Waterside cafe on Orange Ave.  I think of Holly often. I thought they'd gotten all of her cancer. I was there in 2008  when she stood in the doorway of Apt 1 and told us she'd found something in her breast but wanted to wait and see. I was there when she showed us her biopsy bandages. I've so many good memories of her and all the renovations she made to the 3 different apts I lived in.  The huge bags of groceries Holly left on our doorsteps were shocking. She had a huge heart and helped me with Shepherd's Way when I needed healthcare.

I was thinking of Holly today, as it is graduation day for the students at Northern Michigan University.  In May 2003, Holly and I sat beside each other as we waited to receive our Master's degrees in Guidance Counseling.  I enjoyed sharing that special day with her, as well as the classes we took together.  Holly will always hold a special place in my heart.  I miss her Christmas letters and our occasional visits when she returned to Marquette. God Bless her family.

Dear Roxanne, Andrea and Hillary, I met your dear
Mom in Marquette when we took classes at NMU to earn our counseling degrees. I felt like I'd always known your Mom the moment I met her. She taught some of my nephews at Gwinn and always asked how they were doing. I treasured her wonderful Christmas letters for that is how I learned about her precious daughters and grandchildren. ❤ Holly lives on in all who were lucky enough to know her. My sincere sympathy to all of you and your families. May memories of her never ending smile, the twinkle in her eyes and the joy she brought to your lives help to ease some of the pain and emptiness you feel. Peace and Comfort, MaryEllen Debelak Manistique
Holly,
You will always have a special place in my heart.
I will cherish memories of the time we spent together and apart.
I will cherish our conversations across the fence and coast to coast.
I will cherish even more the letters you sent the most.
The neighborhood won't be the same without you. You were and will continue to be the belle of Belle Isle. Your Belle Isle family history is a legend of that land. Your beautiful soul touched and improved the lives of many. You are and will continue to be too well loved to ever be forgotten.
To Holly's beautiful family, I wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to heal and forever hold in your heart.
It goes without saying that Holly will be dearly missed. She was a gem of a person. Her smile lit up the world.
!!!!Condolences!!!!!!!

I appreciate all the laughs, smiles and Saturday visits at Valencia. I will forever remember Holly's love for teaching, silly stories of her weekly ventures and high-spirited personality. The mighty green Honda Accord too. God bless!

Little drop ins to say hello, or give a hug were what I’ll miss most from Holly. She was a ray of sunshine. Her pink and purple hair, colorful ensambles and award winning smile brightened everyone’s day.
Her thoughtfulness was genuine like her hugs.

I will miss you much Miss Holly - Ali
I had a chance to meet holly back when I worked with her daughter at clubhouse for kids back in 2010. She lit up a room and was so friendly and loveable the kids adored her and every time she came to visit she always made sure she would stop by and say hi! Holly you will be missed 💞💞💞💞
Dearest Holly,
You were a sweet mom to me when I needed one most. Thank you for all the letters you would mail me and the light that radiated from you whenever you came to visit. Your love is present everyday through your beautiful daughters and grandchildren. Your soul lives on as your body can finally rest.
I don't even know where to begin. The moment I met Holly, I instantly fell in love with her. She became a second mom to me! Her laughter was contagious and her way at seeing life is something I have always admired. Holly was such a positive light and there to lend a helping hand or some words of advice. She had a way of making people feel so loved even from afar. She will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful person!
Holly,
You were one of the sweetest funniest ladies I ever had the privilege of meeting. You were a beautiful lady, wonderful Mother, & I’m certain a fabulous Grandmother. You brought sunshine wherever you were.
Love & Prayers for Roxanne, Andrea, & Hillary
