Hollace “Holli” Reye Schmidt, 71, passed away on January 1, 2023. She was born in Hamilton OH in 1951 and was raised in Covington KY. After graduating from Holmes High School in 1969, she moved to Lee County FL with her family. Holli loved to travel & was in and out of FL during the ensuing 53 years. She made her final home in Bonita Springs. Holli was an unforgettable character - exceptionally talented, an avid reader, funny & was quick with a helping hand. She worked in veterinarian, restaurant & retail venues in the Bonita area where she touched so many and made lasting friendships. Art was her love. She blessed her family and friends with all forms of art - painting, sculpting, intricately welded jewelry, weaving, sewing & more. Each unique piece was filled with her creativity and love. Her wonderful creations will continue to delight us and remind us of her remarkable life. Holli also loved all animals, particularly her own menagerie of dogs and cats. She was also quick to rescue and nurture any creature in need of help. Holli is survived by her sister and two brothers, four nieces, one nephew, for great nieces, two great nephews and many friends. Respecting Holli’s wishes, there will be no service. Knowing Holli, as we do, she would be honored at those who wished to make a donation to do so with their local animal shelter in her memory.
