Hiraya Ahsoka Gatchalian-Raga passed away painlessly in the arms of her parents on Sunday July 23, 2023.  Her last day on earth was spent gazing into her mother's and father's eyes for hours without tiring.  Listening to them tell stories and sing.  

She was diagnosed prenatally with multiple congenital anomalies.  Doctors fully expected her parents to give up on her, but they refused.  Instead they read to her, talked to her, and sang to her while she was growing in her mother's womb.  Then one day, sooner than planned, God said 'it's time for Hiraya to meet you all.'   

On July 3rd, 2023, Hiraya was miraculously born into the world, eyes open, curious, and aware.  She immediately knew the sound of her father's voice and reached out for his finger with her tiny hand.  A few hours later in Hiraya's NICU room, she met her mother for the first time after the c-section delivery and raised both her arms up instinctively at the sound of her mother's voice.  

For 20 days, she created memories like this.  Engaging, beautiful, and strong.  These moments will live in her parents hearts forever.  Those 20 days, although stressful and sometimes scary, were filled with so much love.  Hiraya impressed everyone with her intense eyes and strong spirit.  She was a fighter.  

From the moment her little heart was seen on ultrasound to her last breath, Hiraya was fiercely loved and will continue to be loved by her mother, father, brother, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.  

Hiraya's life may have been short on this earth.  233 days in her mother's belly and 20 days in the NICU, but her soul will live on for eternity.
