Hirabhai Mitthalbhai Patel led a fulfilling and admirable life, marked by immense generosity. Hirabhai passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024 at the age of 87 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. He was our caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Hirabhai made the journey from Surat, India to Birmingham, England before ultimately settling in the city of Chicago. A skilled civil engineer by profession, he successfully balanced his respected career and personal life, always making sure to carve out time for family and friends. He enjoyed a well-deserved retirement and used that time to explore the world with his wife and altruistically volunteer at hospitals and non-profit organizations. More than anything else, he took great pride in his three treasured children and two grandchildren, whose accomplishments of all sizes brought him immense joy.

Hirabhai left a positive mark on everyone he interacted with due to his endearing personality. He showed strength through all of life's challenges, and his meticulous nature set him apart as an individual.

Hirabhai Patel is survived by his beloved wife, Madhuben Patel, and wonderful children, Rashmi (Kamlesh), Bharat, Dipta (Robert), and cherished grandchildren, Parinia and Jatin, and siblings, Kushalbhai (Laxmiben), Maganbhai (Madhuben), Kamuben (Dayabhai), Balvantbhai (Ranjanben). He lives on in the hearts of many with his memory forever revered and his life lessons eternally imprinted on those he has influenced.

Hirabhai's life will be celebrated on September 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Bohemian National Cemetery. The service is open to all who wish to pay their respects.
