Hilda's obituary
Born on June 1st, 1943, to Violet Betwarda and Gabriel Petros, Hilda was the younger sister to her beloved brother Pierre.
She was married to Vladimir Mirza, an anesthesiologist, in 1969, and the couple had two children.
Fluent in four languages, she had worked as a translator both for foreign embassies and, later in life, for the Stanislaus County Courts.
Hilda was a world traveller in her younger years and was a lifelong enthusiast of European royalty. She also loved to shop (boy, did she ever) for shoes and purses. If there was a deal to be had, she would jump at the chance to add to her collection.
She was known for her cheerful personality, her fantastic sense of humor, and the constant kindness she showed towards everyone she met. She also was generous to a fault. It was not uncommon for her to spend her every last dime on her family. This last point is no mere exaggeration.
With her marriage ended by divorce in 1991, life was not particularly easy, nor always kind, to her in later years. But Hilda always found a way to persevere and her life experiences - both good and bad - allowed her to impart sage advice whenever asked.
True joy and happiness finally found her with the arrival of her dear grandchildren. Her love for them was bottomless and unending.
Hilda is survived by her daughter Patricia, her husband Shaun, and their children Violet, Alexandra, and Christopher. She is also survived by her son Patrick, his wife Susan, and their daughter Logan.
Goodbye mom. You've earned your peace.
