Hermese's obituary

Hermese F. Robinzine

May 30, 1947-April 1, 2022

Reflection of Life

Hermese F. Robinzine (Johnson) was born on May 30 ,1947 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Lillian G. Johnson (Ward) and Allister H. Johnson. She was raised and educated in Queens and ultimately Hempstead, L.I., NY.

She dedicated her life’s work to social and educational services. Some highlights include the Nassau County Children’s Shelter and the Mediation Alternative Project. She ultimately retired in 2006 after 22 years with Hempstead Public Schools. She proudly served many years and represented as a local officer for her chapter of the New York State United Teachers union.

Upon relocating to Tallahassee, FL, she started an in-home day care where each child and their family also became family. This is also where she became a member of Truth Gatherers Community Church. In 2014, she married Carl Robinzine and relocated to Marks and then Southaven, MS. She quickly got involved with the Democratic Party and worked the polls faithfully until 2022. She also attended her weekly Wii bowling and occasional bingo. She will be remembered by the beautiful hand crocheted blankets and crafts she made for everyone she loved. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded to glory by both parents Lillian and Allister Johnson. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Carl Robinzine, her daughter, Dr. Melissa L. Fullmore, son in love, Derek Fullmore, goddaughter, Kathryne Ralph, “other” sons, Keith Miles and JuJuan Blunt. Her grandchildren, Avery, Shamia, Dervayja, and Brianna. Her great-grandchildren, Nyla and Arya. Her brother Stanley A. Johnson, her sister in love, Iva C. Johnson, and her sister Brenda Moore. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and children and grandchildren she “adopted” along the way.

Hermese lived life to the fullest and found fulfillment in serving others along the way. She knew the Lord, lived by the Word and walked by faith. She was called to return to the King on April 1, 2022.
