Herman's obituary
Mr. Herman Sang Lam entered into eternal life on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 5:20 p.m. at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. Born April 24, 1950, in Macau to Lam Chi Ngai and Chan Ming Ngun, he passed away peacefully at age 75, surrounded by his beloved wife of 51 years, Doris, and his loving family.
During his final journey, he embraced the Christian faith through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the godly influence of his late mother and his family’s faithful devotion. We take comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Diagnosed with the rare lymphoma Waldenström Macroglobulinemia, he faced his illness with courage and grace. Fulfilling his final wish, he donated his body to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s anatomical bequest program to contribute to medical research, with the hope of advancing progress toward a cure for this disease.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris Lam; daughters Teresa Tyler (husband Steve; granddaughter Grace, 16), Winnie Glover (husband Matthew; grandson Callam, 10; granddaughters Catherine, 5, and Clementine, 4); and siblings Frances Lum, Kay (Allen) Lee, Joseph KC, Olive (David) Wong, Ida (Lai Man) Chan, Alfred, and Irene (Stephen) Chu.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Macon Road Baptist Church, 11015 Hwy 64, Arlington, TN 38002.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in honoring his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Macon Road Baptist Church, to the address above, in memory of Herman Lam.
