"All good things must come to an end." This is likely how our mother, Herma Pobirs, would have described her passing on November 17, 2023, having lived a full life of 94-¾ years, filled with family and friends. She gave love, and was loved, by so many, leaving all who knew her with countless fond memories.

Our mother, “Mum” as we called her, was always there for her family. An advocate with a loyalty that will never be forgotten.

Herma Pobirs (Steingold) was preceded by the passing of her husband Allen J. Pobirs (1977) . She is survived by her 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, with another on the way.

Herma’s life began in Providence, Rhode Island February 25, 1929. In 1959, she and Allen settled in Southern California with their two children, who would go on to have three more siblings. She loved playing mahjongg with her friends, solving crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and Rummy Tiles with her children, watching a variety of BBC TV mystery series, and attending live concerts and stage performances. 

Most of all, she loved family gatherings, storytelling about her life experiences, and meals shared with family and friends. We miss you bunches and are grateful for the exceptional love, patience, and understanding you gave for so many years!
