Herma was my Big Cousin. With almost a generation difference in our ages, my memories are about how wonderful it was to have a cousin who owned a toy store! I still have the couple of special dolls that my parents got me at her store. I loved dolls and this endeared her to me well past the age when dolls mattered! Since both our families eventually landed in California, we were able to share our simchas together. It was lovely having some of our family on the west coast when most were still in the east and rarely could share events with us. I have a video of her at my wedding where we danced and shared the fun of that evening.

Herma was fun.  She told me stories of growing up with my father, her brother. She enjoyed her life and her family. I am now the oldest Steingold.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mum. She was such an integral part of your life and loved the dogs as well as all her children and their families.

This picture is a frame from a video of Linda's and my wedding, July 3, 1965. This frame that was extracted from an 8mm film, which I had converted to video. So, the quality was poor to start with and degraded by conversion to a different format.
Sending condolences to Allison and her family. I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  She  was a very special person.
