I am deeply saddened to hear of Herbie’s passing.  I met Herb when I was 15 at my first job at the Greenwich Healthmart. We had awesome times. He taught me to not take life so serious and always had a comeback story up his sleeve. He had a Queens NY accent he could never really shake off. We would shadow box all the time at the store when Chuck wasn’t looking and play tricks on each other. We would have pull up competitions and I remember when I turned 17 I finally beat him lol. Tons of laughs during the week and in the weekends we would grab a group of friends and go hiking at Harriman or go bouldering by the water. He would have a way to push me to be stronger and faster. He met my first girlfriend ever and patted me on the back with a smirk. We would throw the football at Greenwich High School after running and sprinting and often train running up and down the stairs.  He was a beast!  I worked with him off and on for 5 years through high school and college. We lost touch after I got married but I remember his laugh and jokes to this day. I wish I stayed in touch or at least saw him one last time before he passed so he could crack a joke and we could both howl and high five each other. Rest easy Herbie. The next time I go for a hike I will tell one of your jokes to the wind and munch on a cliff bar as I smile at the mountains in your memory.  See you on the other side old pal.

Herbie , I was so lucky to have met you when I was just starting my career as a banker in Greenwich . I'll always remember coming in to visit you and just observing you with customers-  the thing is they were more than just your customers they were your friends , and no matter how bad of a day anyone was having you always knew how to put a smile on their face . I always looked up to you for that and will never forget your infectious personality . Rest in peace my friend. , Danny Trudo

I met Herb many many years ago when working in Greenwich. He became a good friend and took me on incredible hikes to Harriman State Park. He was the kindest, funniest, warm hearted human being to hike this earth. I’m deeply saddened to hear he has left us.

We lost touch a long time ago and I wish now I had reconnected.

My condolences to his family, everyone he loved and touched along the way.

Whenever you would meet Herbie, an automatic smile filed you face, he was a beautiful humble human filled with Love and Compassion for all. I will miss him dearly.

I was so sorry to hear about Herbie's passing. I was lucky to have gotten to know him at Greenwich Healthmart years ago and he was so knowledgable about health. He always had a smile, a cheerful word and a such a warm personality!  He made Greenwich a kinder place.

He inspired me, and so many others to be more upbeat with others I interact with daily.  My 2 sons met him when they were young and Herbie also taught them about the value of kindness to everyone you meet.  Herbie's compassion has made the world a better place.
