Herbert's obituary
Herbert William Bradley III, 81, of Yuba City, California passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Herb was born on August 30, 1944, in Rigby, Idaho. The oldest of five children, he was the son of the late Dr. Herbert William Bradley Jr. and Velma Ramona (Ward) Bradley.
Herb graduated Yuba City High School in 1962 before attending the University of Idaho where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1968.
He was commissioned Lieutenant Herbert W. Bradley in the U.S. Army and served from 1968-1979. His service included one tour of Vietnam with the 720th MP Battalion. Herb was a Military Police Officer and proud that all of his men returned home alive.
Herb worked a few years as a Probation Officer in Yuba County and was a Reserve Deputy for the Sutter County Sheriff's Department, before building a prosperous career in real estate. He was a real estate agent and then broker and owner of Coldwell Banker Realty in Yuba City, California.
Herb is survived by two brothers, Craig Bradley and Doug Bradley, and his sister Marcia Bradley.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Teresa (Hamilton-Prien) Bradley.
He is survived by his children: Brooke Bradley, Hale Bradley (fiancée Tiffany); Vincent Hamilton, and Salina (Hamilton) Lindsay.
Herb was a proud Papa and is survived by his many grandchildren: Colby Brown, Micah Wilson, Isaac Wilson, Lily Wilson, Emma Wilson and Ryan Bradley (of Yuba City, California); Saibien Hamilton, Aussiana Hamilton, Arieyessa Hamilton (of Red Bluff, California); Calista Shires, Tucker Shires, and Aphaya Lindsay (of Yuba City, California). He was excited to learn he would have a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Shires, arriving in early 2026.
In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Bradley.
Herb was warm and friendly and never met a stranger. He was an unapologetic patriot and loyal friend to many and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, California officiated by Herb’s longtime friend and comrade Colonel Jerry Duncan, U.S. Army Retired.
Interment will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery Dixon, CA.
