Henry's obituary
Henry Norman Spector (Hank), 89, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Arlington, VA and Annapolis, MD, died peacefully on October 1, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Fran Marx Spector. He was a beloved father to Debra Hoge (George Comstock), Amy Spector (Robert O’Harrow Jr., predeceased), and Anne Spector (David Kelly); grandfather to Travis (Jordan) Hoge, Brandon Hoge, Patrick (Hannah) Hoge, Michela Monday, and Sidney Monday; and great-grandfather to Nathen, Harper, and Cameron Hoge.
Hank graduated from Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University) in Cleveland, OH. He worked for Xerox Corporation for 37 years, concluding his career as Facilities Manager of the Xerox International Center for Training and Management Development in Leesburg, VA, until his retirement in 1997.
He was happiest on the water, appreciating the art and science of sailing. He captained his boat on many adventures on the Chesapeake Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway from Annapolis to Florida and New England. He was a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club for 25 years, serving as Cruising Committee Chair for four years.
Hank was an avid reader and enjoyed British Naval Adventures. He read his favorite author’s series several times and carried books with him wherever he traveled.
He loved to play golf with his favorite partner, Fran. He also golfed with friends in Annapolis, MD where they lived for 25 years.
For the past three years, Hank and Fran lived in St. Petersburg, FL at Westminster Shores overlooking the Little Bayou. Together they spent time socializing, participating in outings, and attending lectures.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 8, 2025, in the Chapel at Westminster Shores on 56th Avenue South. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Westminster Shores Benevolent Fund, 125 56th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33705.
