Henry's obituary

Henry Jordan, was born to Cleveland Jordan and Mary Brown-Jordan on February 17, 1939 in Lauderdale Mississippi. He was the third child of the Jordan’s seven children - Johnny, Betty, Henry, Bertha, Clyde, Frank, and Jeannette Jordan.

While Henry was still a young man, the Brown-Jordan family left Mississippi and moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where they lived in their 2689 Short 21st Street home. Despite his own walk with the Lord at an early age, it was not until February 2, 2014, two weeks shy of his 76th birthday, that Henry was Baptized at Community Baptist Church in Englewood, New Jersey.

In 1956 Henry joined the United States Air Force. Following his active duty assignment with the 63rd Installation Squadron at Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, South Carolina, Henry served in the Air Force Reserves until 1962. After spending time in St. Louis, Missouri and Detroit, Michigan, Henry moved to New Jersey where he met Annie “Anne” Pearl Jenkins. After they united together in marriage in 1970, they ultimately settled in Hackensack, NJ where they raised their three children.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Mary Jordan, his four siblings Johnny, Betty Betty, Bertha, and Clyde.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Anne, his wife of 53 years; his 3 children Timi, Tyra, and Tamia; his brother Frank Jordan (Tuscaloosa, Alabama); his sister Jeanette Austin (Tuscaloosa, Alabama); his grandchildren Ashley, Tyralle, and Teyla; his great grand daughter Shiloh; his bonus daughters Tiffany and Emani, and his bonus grandchildren Shyron, Corey and Jaleya. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Henry will be laid to rest at NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown.
