Background
Over the most recent years of Hank's life, he was dealing with dementia. Before family was able to step in and care for him and his financial affairs, this led him to acquire a couple of bills that are not quite paid off. Once he went into the skilled nursing facility, his monies were to revert to those bills. We were unable to completely meet the cost of his Cremation expenses to the funeral home and those bills created by his own activity before he went into care. We have paid down a great deal of the extenuating bills, however the amount owed for Cremation is at $3,035 and the other bills are at just over $3000; not including a portion still owed to the nursing home that we had to negotiate in order to pay those initial bills.
