Henry's obituary

Henry Gregory Brantley, man of few words but a heart full of love, left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Saturday March 2, 2024. Henry,76, of Lebanon, was born on March 26, 1947, in Dublin, Georgia to Ralph and Essie Mae Brantley. He moved to Tennessee in 1965 to attend Nashville Auto Diesel College and soon met his beloved wife Sue at the Madison Shoney’s Drive In. They married on July 2, 1966. Henry was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Bellsouth/AT&T for 42 years. He was a respected leader and cared about the men and women he worked with. Henry was a loyal and faithful member of Ruth Ensor Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed serving and volunteering at the Christian Community Outreach Center in Old Hickory. Henry’s greatest joy was his family and his grandchildren. He was the best husband, dad, father-in-law, grandpa, brother, and friend that anyone could hope for, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a great man and will truly be missed.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Essie Mae Brantley and a sister –in-law, Debra Brantley.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Brantley, daughter Anna (Scott) LaCoste, son Chris (Cori) Brantley, grandchildren, Mitchell (Courtney) Brantley, Cameron (Zuwena) Brantley, Cade LaCoste, Casey Brantley, Hailey LaCoste, Maggie Brantley, Micah LaCoste, Sani Scott, great grandson, Daniel Brantley, brother, Kendall Brantley, nieces, Carmen (Reggie) Roberts, Tara Powell, Christi (Jim) Gillis, Stephanie (Winston) Domingo, Jessica (Brandon) Hartley, and several great nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Hermitage Funeral Home, Old Hickory, TN Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 pm and Thursday from 12:00pm until time of service. The celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane, Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, Honorary pallbearer, Daniel Brantley.

The family would also like to thank his caregivers from First Light Homecare and his home hospice nurse, Heather, for their love, care, and support.
