A beautiful woman gone too soon. Rest In Peace knowing you touched many lives and will live forever in our ♥️.
Prayers for strength for the family and friends during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Helen's family. She was kind and patient with our students. I am so sorry for your loss.
Helen would always take time to talk to me when our paths crossed. I always felt welcome when I visited her class. I loved seeing the creations that she and her students made. She was ingenious and enthusiastic. Groveport has lost a dear colleague and a wonderful teacher. "Now cracks a noble heart - Good night, sweet Helen, May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Thank you for being a mentor, teacher and friend. You were my safe haven in highschool and I’ve learned so much from you. I’ll forever cherish our memories.

My heart is breaking for Matt and Meghan, and family. We have loving memories that span decades. I have several art pieces made by Helen in our home, and I will treasure them forever. I will miss you, Helen; our world is darker, knowing that you are not here. May you forever dance in the arms of Angels. 💙💙

I got to know Mrs. slater when she taught both of my children. And once I got to the high school and was an aide in her classroom, I got to see a different side of this, loving and very interesting person. My condolences go out to her family.

As Helen's first cousin, we lost touch at a young age, but I do remember going on vacations with the family and have fond memories of her sweet disposition. Keeping the family in my prayers.
She had a great sense of humor a smile that would brighten up any room.. she will be greatly missed
In response to "How did you first meet Helen?"
Helen and I had been hallway neighbors, both in the old school building and the new one. Having no windows in the old building, Helen and a group of students painted a mural of a window in the back of my room, overlooking a beach. I now had a window I could look out of everyday, and it was always a sunny day. I will all miss her good heart and warm smile. May her memory be eternal.
Such a kind, gentle woman. I taught with her for years and enjoyed our daily copy room chat. Love, hugs, and prayers.
I worked with Helen at GMHS for 6 years and am truly saddened by her passing. Helen was kind and generous to everyone that knew her. She will truly be missed by not only the High School but the District as a whole. Condolences to Helen's family.
I got the opportunity to sit in some of her classes she was a great teacher. She was funny and was always smiling she will be greatly missed at groveport high school.
Hello, I worked with Helen for 7 years. She had a great sense of humor, and she was always positive under difficult conditions. The students adored her, especially in her sewing club. She will be greatly missed at GMHS, as a colleague and a friend.
I was saddened to hear of Helen’s passing. My condolences to her family on their loss.
Helen was like a mother to me. She and her lovely family moved across the street from me some 25 years ago and forever changed the course of my life. Her son would become my lifelong best friend, and her encouragement of my artistic endeavors gave me the confidence to share my creativity with the world. When things were not going well in my life, she made it clear that I would always be welcomed into her home with open arms. I loved her tremendously and it meant the world to me that she thought of me as her third child. I will never, ever forget her and the positive, uplifting impact she had on my life. I love you, Helen!

Ms. Slater taught across the hall from me at Groveport.

In the old building where my classroom had no window, she spent weeks after school painting a mural of a window on my classroom wall so I could see the "sunshine."

When I ripped a shirt I wore for Twin Day, she voluntarily sewed it for me so I could keep wearing it.

She had such a bright and beautiful personality, and in every single memory I have with her, she made me smile. Praying for this family during the loss of this amazing woman.
