Helen Rita Thomas (Lynn)

Rest in peace beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt. A longtime resident of Ferndale, MI, Helen Thomas passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023. Helen was born on August 1, 1933 in Detroit to Neil and Rosina Lynn. She attended St. James High School and graduated Class of 1951. Her parents were immigrants from Scotland and made a great life for her in America.

Helen was preceeded in death by her loving husband James Howard Thomas, her daughter Lynn Szafranski, and her sister, Veronica LaPierre.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Margaret Lynn, her five children Dale Thomas, Denise (Rudy) Wey, Mark Thomas, Mike Thomas and Greg (Karen) Thomas, and Boots, the cat.

She drove a bus for the city of Ferndale but her real passion was reading and rescuing animals, including aged greyhounds and elderly cats.

She will be missed by her many grandchildren and great children.

Cremation has taken place.
