Helen Mendoza, was born on October 25th, 1958, in Salinas, CA. She passed into heaven peacefully on January 16th, 2020, in Bonney Lake, WA, at the age of 61.
Helen, is survived by her life partner of 21 years, Andy Grinduilis, her son Jack Rainford and wife Angela, her daughter Dawn Guzman-Aguilar, and her daughter Christina Dillehay and husband Collin; grandchildren, Jack Jr., Jason, Anastasia, Maria, Marisela, Francisco, Addison, Nathan, and soon to arrive Julia. She was blessed with four great grandchildren, Jazelynn, Gabriel, Jayleen and Madison. She also leaves behind her sisters Renee and Jennifer, which were not only her sister, but were her best friends, brother Gabriel, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Helen, was preceded in death by both of her parents (Manuel & Peggy), her brother (Manuel), and her sister (Bobbi Lynn), and numerous other relatives and friends. Our family is comforted with the knowledge of such a grand reunion that was there to greet her.
Helen, spent most of her formative and adult years, in the Burien and White Center areas of Washington. You would often times find her playing Bingo with friends, or rooting her children on at the football field. She loved the smell of fresh rain, and the quieting and settling sounds of the ocean. Helen, loved people and always knew what was going on with them. She was always on the go and never sat much. If she wasn’t taking care of her family by cooking and cleaning, she was out and about with friends.
She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at Normandy Christian Church located at: 908 S. 200th St. Des Moines, WA 98198. The service will be on Saturday, January 25th, 2020, at 2pm. There will be a reception to follow with light refreshments provided.
