Helen's obituary

Helen Marie Marshall (McCombs), 69, passed away on January 12, 2021 in Wildomar, California. Helen was born to Paul and Gertie McCombs on February 19, 1951. She grew up in Tracy, Iowa and graduated from Twin Cedars High School in 1969.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Amy Fernandez and Kimberly (James) Wilbur, who were born during her marriage to Craig Marshall. Helen was an exceptional mother and loved her daughters with all her heart. Helen enjoyed helping with school and sporting events that allowed her to spend time with her daughters and their friends. She had a love for all genres of music and shared her appreciation for music by DJ’ing dances for the kids in the area. Helen also enjoyed sewing, baking, and decorating cakes.

Helen worked in several places over the years, including the overall factory in Oskaloosa and the family’s chicken farm in Attica. Helen later became a Pharmacy Technician and worked at Schmaltz’s Pharmacy in Knoxville. She had an outgoing personality and enjoyed forming friendships with her customers in the pharmacy. Helen went on to work for 3M before retiring.

After she retired, she moved to Wildomar, CA to be closer to her first three grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, and Joslyn (Bugsy). Helen was blessed with her fourth grandchild Maddox (Maddy) in 2012. She was a loving grandmother and her grandchildren brought her great joy.

Helen is also survived by her brothers, Guy (Georgia) McCombs & Dave (Jane) McCombs,  and her sister, Kathy (Wayne) Heberer, as well as many nieces and nephews, who she loved very much.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Art McCombs and her sister, Fay Boyd.

A memorial for Helen will be held at a later date.
