Helen's obituary
Jean Solesbee Grindstaff, 82 of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. She was a native of Nantahala, but had lived in the greater Atlanta area most of her adult life. She had worked as an operator for Southern Bell, and later as a cashier for Winn Dixie from where she retired. Jean was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Norcross, Georgia and enjoyed old time gospel music. Jean was a loving homemaker to her husband, kids, and grandkids.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Cubie Postell Solesbee and wife of the late Guy Edwin Grindstaff, Jr., who died December 8, 2020. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Harris, Ruth Bowers, and Minnice Sandidge, and five brothers, Robert, Max, L.B., Darnell, and Gilbert Solesbee.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Pam Lee of Dawsonville, Georgia and Cindy Wilson (Janssen) of Murrayville, Georgia; a sister, Dorothy Stalcup (Henry) of Marble; six grandchildren, Erie and Brittany Osborne, Sara and Hanna Carver, Michael (Vanda) Ebrey, and Nicholas Ebrey; and six great-grandchildren, Jazmin and McKenlee Pierce, Gavin Osborne, Charli Nelson, and Maddux and Caroline Ebrey.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Reverend Mickey Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Osborne, Michael Ebrey, Nicholas Ebrey, Barry Stalcup, Bobby Stalcup, and Brian Stalcup.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the service.
