Helen Copp was born Helen Darlene Snoderly to Hazel and Claude Snoderly on January 20, 1947, in a small coal mining town in West Virginia. Helen's mother and father divorced and her mother remarried to Alexis Yearsovich. Helen and her family moved to Grand Rapids, MI, and then to Wyoming, MI.
