Submitted by Rosemary Vesci: I was in the Reading, Writing, Memoir class with your mother at the Pennridge Senior Center. I joined the class, not knowing if it was what I was looking for. Well, it was because of your mother that I decided to stay in the class. She wrote something for the class. It was so warm and down to earth (like your mother) that I decided to stay in the class. You described her as sweet and dear, that is how I felt about Joan. I loved her and missed her, when she moved.
Joan was part of our neighborhood book club for many years and we always enjoyed hearing her insight and commentary on the books we read. She was sharp and had a wonderful sense of humor too. Her beautiful smile will always be remembered. Gail Gile
