Joan loved to feed her children with eggs she collected from her chickens and milk she collected from her goats. She was dedicated to helping people who were less fortunate than she was, and liked the idea of helping poor communities get animals that could help feed the children. Heifer International is a charity organization working to end hunger and poverty around the world by providing livestock and training to struggling communities. It is a perfect way to honor Joan's life and passing.
