My condolences to Heather's family, Tony and girls. I first met Heather in the Air Force where she was the Chief Nurse at Shaw. She became a very dear and special friend. She loved life and her family. I so enjoyed our TDYs and long walks. I will always remember our girl talks, cries and hugs and will miss her laugh and smile and know she is with God and he is cradling her in his arms.

On behalf of the Society of Air Force Nurses, please know we are mourning with you the death of our friend and colleague, retired Colonel Heather Perez. She was a remarkable woman who made such a difference in the lives of others during her own too short  journey through life.  As a member of the Society,  a donation in her memory and honor will be made to a charitable organization. Heather will be missed by so many, and she will not be forgotten by the community of Air Force nurses.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain and grief you all are going through. Heather was an amazing woman, mother, wife, and Airman. She left her mark on this world. She will be incredibly missed. I'm praying for peace and comfort through this devastingly difficult time.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
