Heather's obituary
Heather was born on November 26, 1985, in Sacramento, CA to Rory Bodnar and Donna Routley. She received her BSN undergraduate degree from University of California Santa Cruz and her MSN graduate degree from University of San Francisco. She had worked as a Registered Nurse for 8 years. On September 12, 2015, she married Ryan Otto. Together they raised their daughter Olivia and son Mason.
Heather’s passions were singing and dancing, traveling, decorating, and music. She was an avid 90s country music fan and also loved anything by Lady Gaga. Heather was an excellent dancer and was known to take over the dance floor when given the opportunity. Her and her husband even took Salsa lessons as a way to refine their moves. She loved to travel both domestically and internationally, always looking to explore new places with Ryan. Some of her favorite places to travel to were Mexico with “Los Ottos” and weekend getaways in Capitola. Heather was a huge fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines and would watch their show Fixer Upper repeatedly. She was known for her acerbic sense of humor, her endlessly beautiful blue eyes, her fun loving spirit, and deep compassion for others.
Heather is survived by her husband, Ryan, their two children, Olivia and Mason, her father, Rory, her mother, Donna, step father Joe Chapman, brother Greg Bodnar, grandmother Marjorie Gorrell, and in-laws, Linda, Dennis, and Erik Otto. She also has several cousins, aunts, and uncles from British Columbia, Canada.
