RSVP here for the Burial Service
We will lay Heath’s body to rest on Friday afternoon, and then on the following morning, we’ll celebrate his life at our church.
In keeping with Heath’s “more the merrier” personality, friends and family are welcome at both the burial and the celebration.
To help plan, there are different RSVP sites for the burial and the celebration. Please use this one if you’ll be joining us for the burial.
Blessings upon blessings.

Event Program
Friday, May 6
Any and all are invited to gather at the cemetery for the interment at 3:00 PM. After, the three of us will need a break, but that also affords an opportunity for people to eat with folks they might not have seen in a while. Heath loves those kinds of meals, and maybe now he’s able to listen in to all of them at once. ;)
Around sunset, we want to have a very specific celebration at our house. All are invited.
Heath would often do what we call a “sunset cruise.” It started on our honeymoon, and it involves creating a tropical drink of some sort, popping in one of those paper umbrellas, and enjoying great company during a good sunset in the backyard. Often, we’d drop even important work to just enjoy our sunset cruises.
So we invite everyone on Friday to our house starting at 7 o’clock to watch the 8 o’clock sunset.
We’ll pull out the paper umbrellas, ice, cups, and tropical juices to make your own sunset cruise drink. If you’d like to bring alcohol, feel free to, but since Heath’s drinks were usually non-alcoholic, we’ll celebrate that same way. Alcohol is definitely an option for anyone who wants to BYOB.
If young ones use the pool, I’d love some volunteer lifeguards.
RSVP here so that I have tiny, tacky umbrellas, guava nectar, grenadine, etc. for you.

Event Program
Saturday, May 7
We’d love to have people over for a Heath tradition: simple desserts.
The celebration of life on Saturday morning starts at 10, and probably officially ends at 11. We’ll stay to talk with people I’m sure, but afterward, we’ll need a break.
So anyone who wants to join us for Heath’s favorite desserts, come gather at our house at 1:30PM.
Feel free to bring your own desserts if Heath’ s favorites don’t satisfy. He loved a tradition from the Obourn side of his family: vanilla ice cream with a dollop of creamy peanut butter stuck to the side of the bowl and chocolate sauce on top.
And the dessert we had most days was berries with whipped cream.
We’ll have both of those desserts ready to go, plus several of his favorite boxed candies like Whoppers, Junior Mints, and Grasshoppers (aka: imitation Girl Scout cookies).
Thanks in advance to my wonderful friends who formed a clean-up crew for both events, spearheaded by Lisal McDonald.
Please RSVP below so that I don’t end up facing grief with a pantry full of leftover wanna-be Girl Scout cookies.
