Heath's obituary
Heath Esther (Romer) Rentle was born on July 12, 1936. On January 4, 2024 she left her earthly home to join her Heavenly Father. She was the second of three children to the Romer family. She was preceded in death by her brother Phil and daughter Tamara. She is survived by her husband Norman Rentle, brother Fred (Mitchella), daughter Suzie (Bill), son Craig (Barbara), four grandchildren (their spouses) and three great grandchildren.
Heath was married to Norman for 66 years. During that time she supported him throughout his Navy career. They lived in various places throughout the United States where she raised three children and had a teaching career. Heath and Norm settled in San Diego, California in 1975. She became known and loved in her community as she shared her love for educating children. She left a legacy as a teacher at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church preschool after 32 years. She dedicated many years to Ladies Oriental Shrine and Daughters of the Nile where she helped to support the Shriners Children's Hospital by sewing blankets and clothing for children. Heath’s claim to fame were her secret oatmeal cookie and chocolate chip cookie recipes. If you were lucky enough to receive a batch, you were truly special in her life.
She will be missed by her family and those who were blessed with her presence, care and love throughout all of her years of service to the communities she was a part of.
