Hazel's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hazel Williams (nee Woody), who died on August 19, 2023. Born on March 16, 1938, Hazel was a woman of exceptional grace, kindness, and generosity. Her heart was centered on her family and friends, and she touched numerous lives with her warm and caring personality. Above all, Hazel believed in treating everyone with kindness, a principle she lived by faithfully.

Hazel is survived by her loving partner Fred Bawden, daughters Patricia Williams and Catherine Lane, grandkids Preston Lane, Elizabeth Crawford (nee Lane), Victoria Evans (nee Lane), and Sarah Ashby (nee Lane), and her son Shawn Williams, daughter-in-law Kelly Williams (nee Norris), and grandson Shawn Williams Jr. She is also survived by her brothers Lester and Ronald Woody, sister-in-law Deborah Woody (nee Warren), six great grandkids and great-great grandkids.

Hazel was born to Howard and Rhoda Woody (nee Padgett), both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Martha Woody. The lessons she learned from her parents and relationships have shaped Hazel into the woman we all loved and admired.

Her deep love for her family and friends will always be remembered, and she will be greatly missed. Hazel's legacy is one of pure kindness, micromoments of positivity, and care for others. The void left by her passing can only be filled by holding onto the memories she left behind, reminiscing about the joy she brought, and striving to uphold the values she held dear.

May her soul find rest knowing she made a significant impact in the world, leaving a legacy of love, respect, and kindness. Hazel Williams will forever be missed but never forgotten.
